Born in Khartoum, Sudan, of French parents, and raised in Egypt where she studied art under Professor Carlo Minotti and Tahia Halim. She then moved to Paris to continue her studies at the University of Paris - Academie de Grande Chaumiere, and Academie Julien. During this period she spent her summers traveling and studying art in Europe and the Middle East, then venturing to Hawaii, Tahiti, Mexico, Canada, and then the US.
After immigrating, she continued painting, teaching art and conducting annual painting Art Tours throughout Europe and Israel. Nina has a tremendous background in all phases of art. Most notable are her works in oils on canvas using a palette knife. She has lectured and demonstrated on television, for art clubs and universities.
Her paintings are part of collections in the private homes of Senator Pat Murray, WA; the late Governor Lawton Chiles, FL; Senator Bell, FL; as well as diplomatic offices, state buildings and other public buildings
such as Sun Bank of FL; Florida National Bank, IBM, Gerber, Coca-Cola, University of FL, Shands Hospital,
the Museum of Florida Art in Deland, and other collections both in the US and abroad.
Nina has been a Coast Guard Artist since 1992 and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary since 2000 in Palm Coast, FL. In 2005 Nina responded to a call for help after Hurricane Katrina hit. Within 2 days she was on her way to Houston TX, then to the Ford Arena in Beaumont TX. When Hurricane Rita made landfall followed by so many devastating tornadoes in East Texas, she worked very long hours, 7 days a week, helping evacuees and victims of the disaster.
The next year she was deployed in the State of Louisiana, followed by a short deployment for the disaster in Queens, NY.
Nina now works for Homeland Security as a disaster assistance employee for FEMA when needed.
She continues to travel and paint in the US and abroad.
